What is Pelivan Transit?

Pelivan Transit was established in 1985 and is operated by Grand Gateway Economic Development Agency as transportation services for a five city area.

Annual federal grants provide some of the resources for the rural transportation service, which operate under a Section 5311 grant. Local match monies are provided by local, county and state government bodies as well as employers involved in the road-to-work projects.

How is Pelivan Transit used?

Pelivan Transit currently has a fleet of 28 vehicles ranging from four-passenger wheelchair accessible mini-vans, 14-passenger vans (for road-to-work projects) and 11-passenger wheelchair accessible micro-buses.

City routes offer transportation at city fare rates of $1.75 (over age 60) and $2.00 (under age 60) one way; rural rates are $2.50 (over age 60) and $3.00 (under age 60) one way; variable distance fare rate is $.50 per mile and bus or airport connect shuttle is $35.00 one way.

Transportation services are open to the public and hours of operation in area cities, which include Craig, Delaware, Mayes, Ottawa and Rogers' counties, are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Claremore, (Rogers) currently offers a route on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pelivan Transit has provided over 357,588 passenger rides to persons of all ages from grade school to elderly disabled persons and has traveled over 1,297,804 miles since 2004.
